II Peter 3:10-18

This bible study aide will help us dig a little deeper into God’s Word, specifically at II Peter 3:10-18. We wrote these questions based on how the New King James Version (KNJV) reads, but you can use any version.

QUESTIONS

Begin this lesson in prayer.
Read II Peter 3:10-18.

  1. Think about how powerful God is. Read verses 10-12 again. Describe how powerful God is.
  2. Answer the question that is in verse 11, “what manner of persons ought you to be…?”.
  3. We look forward to Christ’s coming and the new Heaven and the new Earth. Why do we look forward to this?
  4. Read verses 17-18. Why are these verses so important for us to remember?

  1. God melts and burns up everything! The Heavens and the Earth and everything in it! That is Power! He has the ability to burn up the Heaven and Earth, and the mercy to forgive us. That is worthy of praise to Him, and to have a healthy fear of God. Just think how hard it is for us to start a campfire and keep it going!
  2. A person who is looking forward to the coming of Christ, who is a believer, and doing my best to live out God’s will each and every day. We should be striving to meet verse 14, “be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless;” and we can only do that because He has saved us, and because He saved us we are doing our best to live out the commandment of love.
  3. We live in a world that is imperfect to put it nicely. It is hard to get past our own sins and let alone getting past the sins of others that are thrown in our path like a huge boulder. When we get to Heaven that will no longer exist! And God’s perfection sounds so nice right now!
  4. I think we need to remember that we are weak, we have flaws, and we cannot let the enemy feed off of it. Instead we need to strengthen ourselves in scripture, in Christ until He comes again!
