LORD, TEACH ME ABOUT BEING HEALED

LORD, TEACH ME ABOUT BEING HEALED

A free bible study blog on being healed by God.

What does the bible tell us about being healed by God? We assume God wants us to be in perfect health. But, when we look to His word, we will find out what God wants, and what our role is when it comes to being healed by Him. Today we are going to search scripture, apply scripture, and hopefully get a better understanding of what being healed by God means.

AUTHORS ANSWERS

After each verse, write out what we need to do if we want healing.

Hebrews 12:13 – We need to work on our weaknesses. For example, if something we eat is causing us to be sick, we need to stop eating that. James 5:16 – We need to confess our sins and admit we need help to other Christians, and to pray for each other. Matthew 9:22, Mark 10:52 – We need to have faith that God will and can heal.

Why did God decide NOT to heal Paul? What can you learn from this passage?

God did not heal Paul because he was becoming too boastful, conceited or maybe prideful because of the revelation that God gave him. God gave him this thorn to humble him. This thorn is a reminder for Paul that he needs to boast in God and not himself. Sometimes we need to be “unhealthy” in order to see our sin, and come to repentance.

How can we find comfort in this verse even if God decides to NOT to bring us to complete healing?

This verse is a good reminder that God will not always heal us to perfection, but Jesus has given us a hope to hold on to! Perfection is coming in the form of eternal life in Heaven because He has overcome this world! We live in a sinful world, and God wants His light to shine through us. Sometimes His light has to shine through the hurt, pain, and suffering of this fallen world. This world isn’t perfect, so we can’t expect to be or feel perfect either.
