WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT WORRYING?

What does the bible say about worrying? This is something that many of us struggle with. Fortunately the bible has many verses on worrying. I am going to narrow it down to help us out. Below are some examples from the Bible about worrying, which we can relate too.

  1. Matthew 6:25-34
  2. Luke 10:41
  3. Mark 14:32-42
  4. Matthew 6:33-34

Matthew 6:25-34

This section in the Bible is about worrying about our necessities, like food and clothing. This is very relatable to us today!

Luke 10:41 (38-42)

You probably have heard about Martha and Mary, and how Martha complains to Jesus about Mary. There is more to this passage than complaining. Martha has some worries and troubles that are not explained, but Jesus has a solution for her.

Mark 14:32-42

Jesus is troubled, distressed and very sorrowful. We can and should look to this example that Jesus has experience for us.

All of us worry. We shouldn’t be embarrassed, uncomfortable, or hide it from God. There is one thing that all of these examples have in common, turning to God!

It seems like a simple, no brainer Sunday School answer to worrying. However, is that your first reaction to worrying? It’s not mine, but I want it to be my all-time solution to worrying.

Matthew 6:33-34

33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.  Matthew 6:33-34
