CAN GOD USE OUR FLAWS FOR GOOD?

CAN GOD USE OUR FLAWS FOR GOOD?

Everyone has something that they would consider a flaw. This would be something about yourself that you think is holding you back from being the person God wants you to be. The important question is this: Does God consider your “flaws” flaws?

OUR FLAWS

When I say flaws I am not talking about our sins (even though God uses us despite our sins). When I say flaws, I am talking about the things we don’t like about ourselves. Theses “flaws” often hold us back from being who God wants us to be, because we don’t embrace them. They can be the result of a path that we have gone down, or it’s just how God created us from the get go. These flaws can range from being outspoken to too quiet, thinking you’re too emotional or not emotional enough, or in Moses’s case a bad speaker. It can be anything! All of us have self proclaimed flaws. Even people in bible history!

FLAWS FROM BIBLE HISTORY

MOSES (Exodus 4:10)
Self proclaimed Flaw: One flaw he gave God was his speech. But, he lacked confidence! Moses gave God a lot of excuses why he couldn’t do His will.
God’s plan for his flaw: God didn’t heal Moses speech issue. Instead God built up Moses’ confidence and directed it to where it should be, in God. So much so that he talked (which was one of Moses’ self proclaimed flaws) to God with extreme boldness and confidence on behalf of the people.

SARAH (Genesis 18:10-12)
Self Proclaimed Flaw: She says she is too old to have a baby.
God’s plan for her flaw: God didn’t change her self proclaimed flaw, she had Isaac even though she thought she was too old. This was a testimony to what God can do, and that He was in control.

PAUL (2 Corinthians 12:7-10)
Self Proclaimed Flaw: Thorn in his flesh
God’s plan for his flaw: God did not take the self proclaimed flaw away, because it’s not a flaw. The thorn in his flesh had a purpose, and it was to keep him grounded in his faith.

Does God consider your “flaws” flaws?

I am coming to accept the fact that I am who God has created me to be, self proclaimed flaws and all. In fact my confidence goes up the more I understand and accept that God doesn’t see my flaws as flaws, only I do.

ME:
Self Proclaimed Flaw: I’m a doubter! I Feel like I have to question everything before I can believe it is true.
God’s plan for my flaw: God hasn’t taken my flaw away. This blog, my bible studies, my Facebook groups, and so much more are a result of my self proclaimed flaw. God has increased my faith to trust HIM with ALL my questions!

My flaw has increased my faith, enabled me to draw closer to God, and see His will for me in this one area of my life. Now, it’s your turn! What is your self proclaimed flaw and are you letting God use it?

What you consider a flaw
God can use to better His kingdom.
