DOING THE WILL OF GOD IN MY LIFE

Doing the will of God

As Christians, we should try our best to live the way God wants us too. Sometimes it’s hard to feel confident that we are making the right choices, especially when making big decisions. This bible study will help us understand what God’s will is. It will also guide you through the question, “Am I doing the will of God in my life? “.
Remember, there is no cookie cutter answer to some of life’s specific questions. This is because God has a different plan for each of us. But the bible makes God’s will very clear for many aspects of our lives.

AUTHORS THOUGHTS

How would you define the will of God? The will of God is what HE wants done, not us.
How do you know 100% that something is NOT the will of God? The will of God is holy and good. We are to test everything to see if it is God’s good and perfect will. (Romans 12:2) If something goes against God’s teaching in scripture, we know it is NOT His will. We know murder, lying, adultery, etc are evil so we know if we do these things that it is NOT His will for us.
How do you know you are doing God’s will? First example; You can be confident you are doing God’s will if you have a plan/decision that you have prayed to God about (Matthew 6:9-13), it is in line with scripture (Romans 12:2), you are not boastful or prideful in this plan (Romans 12), God is allowing this to happen (James 4:13-16), and you feel the Holy Spirit’s help (John 14:15-18).
Second example; We know that God’s will is all through scripture, God’s will is scripture, so if our actions do not go against scripture then we know we are in God’s will. (2 Timothy 3:16, Romans 12, Matthew 6:9-13)

Why should we try to live out God’s will?
If we are truly a child of God then we will want to.
Are there any blessings for doing the will of God? Matthew 5:1-12 and Luke 6:20-26 are specific blessings that God will give to us when we follow His will. Also, when I look to God and do the will of God in my life, I see blessing from God that I might never have seen before. When we try to live the life that God calls us to we become closer to God, and then we are able to see many blessings, even during the troubles of life.

CONCLUSION

God’s will for us can be pretty clear when is comes to how we should act and behave. But, sometimes it’s a struggle for us to know 100% if a decision, or comment, or action was God approved. In those instances we need to remember to keep strong to our faith, because God can use everything to bring about some kind of good. Stay strong in your faith! God loves you and will never leave you or forsake you!
