VERSES ON HAPPINESS

VERSES ON HAPPINESS

Sometimes being happy is easier said then done. When we have God, on our side, inside, and all around us, we can be encouraged that unhappiness won’t last. God has given us this great big book of instructions, lets open it up and get encouraged! Let’s find some bible verses on happiness.

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 NKJV

These 4 Verses on Happiness will answer the following questions.

  • Why should we be happy?
  • Why is Not being happy, is bad for us?
  • How do we get happy?

Proverbs 15:13

Why: A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance,
Why Not: But by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
Explanation: Being happy, is good for our appearance. Our happiness shows through our body language, especially our facial expressions. Sorrow and unhappiness fractures our spirit, it makes us broken on the inside. This is an awful feeling that can be hard to repair.

Proverbs 17:22

Why: A merry heart does good, like medicine,
Why Not: But a broken spirit dries the bones.
Explanation: Happiness really is good for our body. “Laughter is the best medicine.” is a pretty accurate saying. Have you ever felt tired and weighed down when you have a broken spirit? Unhappiness is bad for our body and spirit.

Proverbs 15:30

Why: The light of the eyes rejoices the heart,
How: And a good report makes the bones healthy.
Explanation: What we put into our bodies is VERY important! We need to focus on the good in our life. We need to look at the “good reports” of our day, our week, our year. Good news makes us healthy, when we feel healthy, we feel happy.

Proverbs 16:20

How: He who heeds the word wisely will find good,
How: And whoever trusts in the Lord, happy is he.
Explanation: We need to listen and trust in the Lord. Our unhappiness falls on us if we are not listening to and trusting in the Lord. What is bringing you down? Seek his will, do His will, leave it to Him. In other words, trusting in Him will bring you peace, you will find some good!
