- Write down a prayer, for Christians you know, that the sharing of their faith in Christ Jesus is effective.
- Read vs 10 – 20
- What does Paul write to convince Philemon, Apphia, Archippus and the church to WELCOME back Onesimus, NOT AS A SLAVE BUT AS A BROTHER IN CHRIST?
- How difficult or easy do you think it was for them to welcome Onesimus back as a brother in Christ and not as a slave?
- Explain when you have forgiven someone and given them a second chance?
- Read vs 22
- Is Paul trusting in his own prayers or the prayers of others to get himself back to Philemon and the others?
- When do you rely on the prayer of others as heavily as Paul does?

- Read vs 4 – 7: What does Paul pray for? He thanks God for the love and faith of Apphia, Archippus and the church. Paul prays that the sharing of their faith in Christ Jesus is effective.
- Read vs 10 – 20: What does Paul write to convince Philemon, Apphia, Archippus and the church to WELCOME back Onesimus, NOT AS A SLAVE BUT AS A BROTHER IN CHRIST? Paul appeals to them. Taking Onesimus back is for love’s sake and would be a good deed. Onesimus has changed and has become profitable, he can be received back as a brother instead of a slave. Paul is willing to pay any debt that Onesimus owes.
