WHAT IS SALVATION?

WHAT IS SALVATION?

What is salvation? Before we can understand salvation, we first have to understand sin.

WHAT IS SIN?

Sin is anything that goes against God, His holiness, and His will. Unfortunately, everyone sins. Admitting that we sin can sometimes be one of the hardest things for us to do. (I John 3:4-7, 5:17, Romans 3:23)

SIN EXAMPLES

Not telling the truth, stealing, murder, lustful thoughts, and acting on our anger are all examples of sins. (Not following the Ten Commandments Exodus 20:1-17)

WHAT IS SALVATION?

Salvation is when God frees us (saves us) from our sins.

Because God is perfect and holy our sins need to be removed so we can live for eternity with Him in Heaven (instead of in hell). God did this for us! He freed us from our sins by letting His Son, Jesus Christ, take the punishment for each and every sin that we commit.

God wants to give us this gift, but we have to accept it. When we accept this gift of salvation, we become a child of God. God is your heavenly Father and your eternal relationship with God begins right then. (I Corinthians 15:3-4, 1 John 3:4-7)

SALVATION NEEDS TO BE ACCEPTED

If you want to accept Gods free gift of salvation, tell God. Pray to God and admit that you are a sinner and you need His help. Thank Him for sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross to take the punishment for your sins so you can be a part of His kingdom now and forever. (Romans 10:9, John 1:12-13)
