God’s promise, He will never leave you or forsake you

Hebrews 13:5 says that He will never leave you nor forsake you. In this lesson we will search scripture to find out why God gives us this promise, God will never leave you or forsake you, and the meaning behind it. Read Hebrews 13:5

1. Read Hebrews 13:5-6. What is the promise that God gives us in the end of verse 5? What does God want us to be able to say, because of this promise?
   
   
2. These questions are taken directly from verse 6, because of his promise for us in verse 5.
   a. How does God not leaving you or forsaking you help you in this life? (Philippians 4:4-9)
   
   
   
   b. John 16:33 helps me answer this next question. Why should we not fear, knowing that God doesn’t leave us or forsake us?
   
   
   c. God gave us this promise because He knows we cannot get through this on our own. What can man do to you that God can not help you through. Explain. (Psalms 118)

TO THINK ON

The promise is that He wont leave us. Why do we need this promise? In this world you will have trouble, take heart I have overcome the world. (John 16:33) This is Satan’s world that we live in, yes Satan’s world! God (Father, Son & Holy Spirit) is with us to help us get through the troubles of this world, not to make this world perfect, that is why Jesus came in the flesh for us. Look to God for help each day, and look to the promise of Heaven, the perfect world, for the encouragement we need to get through all the tribulations this world holds for us. Remember, God will never leave you or forsake you!
