JOHN 3:16 BREAKDOWN
For God so loved the world
that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in Him
should not perish
but have everlasting life.
John 3:16 NKJV
John 3:16 is one of the most recognized Bible verses. You don’t need to be a believer to have heard this verse, or at least the verse reference. Just because we have heard this verse, it doesn’t mean we have taken time to focus on what it means. In this blog article, we’re going to pick the verse apart, and focus on it’s meaning. It doesn’t say He liked, knew, or cared for. It says He LOVED! - the world
God loves EVERY SINGLE PERSON. Those who believe in Him and those who don’t. Every sinner in this world, past, present and future. From Adam to your great-great grandchildren and beyond. - that He
THE ONE TRUE GOD - gave
God freely offered, handed over, delivered. - His only begotten Son
He was made a man, and this was for a specific reason. He was born and lived on this earth, as is God only Son. - that whoever
Anyone! Every single person, every single sinner. - believes
If you believe, you are saying “yes this is true” with 100% confidence. - in Him
God’s only begotten Son, who died on the cross for the sins of every person on this earth. - should not perish
NOT succumbing to death, to the second death to be exact. (Thrown into the lake of fire that was made for Satan and his angels) - but have everlasting life
You will live forever with God, and other believers, in paradise!
God gave us His word and He wants us to read it, study it, and meditate on it.
John 3:16 is a good place to start! It is the gospel wrapped up in one verse!
