WHO IS GOD? IS THE TRINITY REAL?
Who is God, according to scripture? We have been told and taught that God consist of the Trinity, the Father, Son & Holy Spirit. Do you know where scripture talks about God being the Father, God being the Son, and God being the Holy Spirit? Lets search God’s word to find the answer.
HOW BIG IS GOD?
GENESIS 1:26, 27
26“Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;…”
27“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”
When we look at the Genesis 1:26 we see that God is talking to others, and in the same breath referring to Himself. He uses the words Us, Our image & Our likeness. This tells us that our God is bigger than we can imagine.
Moving on to verse 27, we see that God is now in the singular form. The word His own image, In the image of God, is used.
Read the verses again while keeping that in mind.
26“Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;…” 27“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”
CONCLUSION
He is one God (verse 27) and a multiple God (verse 26) all wrap up in One!
Lets looks at other verses to see the different aspects of the Trinity, God as the Father, the Son, & Holy Spirit.
GOD IS THE THE HOLY SPIRIT
GENESIS 1:2
1“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.”
The Spirit of God was present in the very beginning, and is one aspect of God. The Spirit of God, also called the Holy Spirit, played an important part in creation and in our everyday life.

GOD IS JESUS CHRIST, THE SON
HEBREWS 1:1-2, 8-9
1“God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;”
8“But to the Son He says:
“Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;
A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.
9 You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness;
Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You
With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.”
Jesus Christ, the Son of God is the second aspect of God. Again, He was there in the beginning and the world was created through Him. Also, if you notice in the above verses the Son is also called God, by God.
If you want to learn more on how the Son of God plays the most important role in our life read our very first blog post.
GOD IS THE FATHER
HEBREWS 5, MATTHEW 6:8-9
5“For to which of the angels did He ever say:
“You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You”?
And again:
“I will be to Him a Father,
And He shall be to Me a Son”?”
8“Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. 9 In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.”
You will notice in these two verses that God is called our Father. God is also called His Son’s Father.
CONCLUSION
We searched scripture to answer the questions “Who is God, and Is the Trinity real?” Because we relied on scripture to guide us, we see who the ONE TRUE GOD is! He is Our Heavenly Father, the Holy Spirit who dwells in us, and Jesus Christ the Son of God who grants us salvation.
Search scripture on your own to see God in all three aspects. A good starting point would be the first chapter of John, and 1 John 5:7.
