Pure in Heart

8 ATTITUDES THAT GOD WILL BLESS US FOR HAVING (FROM THE BEATITUDES); Day 6 Pure in Heart

We know that everyone is different, with different personalities, but even though this is true, everyone experiences similar emotions, attitudes and experiences. Most of the time we feel alone during these life experiences, but we are not! In fact, it’s so common that God wrote about this very topic!  Therefore, join us as we focus on 8 attitudes that God will bless us for having. So, Todays focus attitude is being Pure in Heart.

*Over the next few weeks I will post all 8 attitudes that God will bless us for having. (links below) *

ATTITUDE AND BLESSING

AttitudePURE IN HEART
Blessing: You will see God
Scripture: Matthew 5:8

MEANING AND APPLICATION

Meaning: Pure In Heart means to be without evil and without evil intentions. In fact, the pure in heart have God intentions with the compassionate heart that God has given us.

Life Experience:
EXAMPLE 1: The first thing that comes to mind when I think of being pure in heart is when someone sees a new born baby. When we see a new baby we feel pure joy and happiness. We feel the joy and happiness because our heart is pure, we are not thinking about anything evil when we see this precious new born. The blessing that comes with this is that we are seeing God! We see the work of God in that babies face and in our spirit.

EXAMPLE 2: I was thinking of different life examples I could use, like having a Childlike faith. But, after reading Psalm 73 I feel like I need to go a different route. This Psalm starts out with the author talking about how he almost stumbled and how he was envious. He then describes why, and then praises God! This is what being pure of heart is all about. It’s about completely trusting in God when we are at our breaking point! When we get to that point we have a choice to make, and when we make the choice to be pure in heart and trust God whole heartedly, WE WILL SEE HIM, just like the author of this Psalm did.

SCRIPTURE READING

Matthew 5:1-12

And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:
“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
For they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
For they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
For they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
For they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers,
For they shall be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Luke 6:20-23

Then He lifted up His eyes toward His disciples, and said:
“Blessed are you poor,
For yours is the kingdom of God.
Blessed are you who hunger now,
For you shall be filled.
Blessed are you who weep now,
For you shall laugh.
Blessed are you when men hate you,
And when they exclude you,
And revile you, and cast out your name as evil,
For the Son of Man’s sake.
Rejoice in that day and leap for joy!
For indeed your reward is great in heaven,
For in like manner their fathers did to the prophets.
