CHRISTIANITY AND SIN

CHRISTIANITY AND SIN

Are you a Christian?
Are you a Christian who sins?
Are you a Christian who chooses to sin?
Christianity and sin do not go hand in hand.

Every Christian will sin, but the problem is when a believer chooses to knowingly commit a sin repeatedly. When this is happening, a change needs to be made in that person, repentance. Simply put, we need to turn our back on the reoccurring sin and turn towards God. We need to make a choice, God or the sin, we can’t choose both.

Three verses overlaying a picture of the sunset.
For if you live according to the flesh
you will die,
but if by the Spirit
you put to death the deeds of the body,
you will live.
Romans 8:13
For all who are led by the Spirit of God
are sons of God,
Romans 8:14
Therefore, if anyone is a new creation,
old things have past away,
behold, all things have become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17

According to scripture, when you become a Christian, you have to put your sins behind you. You left your sins in the past when became a believer, and that’s where they need to stay.

We can not live in our shed sins. If we are, we didn’t shed them, and we are not letting the Holy Spirit lead us.

Yes, Jesus forgives us. But, when we become a new creation in Christ, we shed our sins, wanting to be more like Christ, not our old self.

By shedding our sins, and not turning back to them, we are becoming a living sacrifice holy and acceptable to God!

This will not be easy, but if we let God make us a new creation it is possible! God will renew our mind, and refresh our soul and spirit. God does this for us so we will have the ability to NOT conform to this world, but to God’s will!

Two verses overlaying an open bible with two nails on it
I beseech you therefore brothers,
by the mercies of God,
that you present your bodies
as a living sacrifice,
holy and acceptable to God,
which is your reasonable service.
Romans 12:1
And do not be conformed to this world,
 but be transformed
by the renewing of your mind,
that you may prove
what is that good and acceptable
and perfect will of God.
Romans 12:2
