ME TIME IS IMPORTANT

ME TIME IS IMPORTANT

Me time isn’t always a bad thing

Me time is not a bad thing if you are using it for the right reasons! Are you using this alone time to recharge your spirit or for self gratification? Of Course God wants us to use our me time to better ourselves and to draw close to Him! God knows best, and He know that drawing close to Him IS good for our health.

So, lets look at what scripture has to say.

God wants us to have alone time

  • LUKE 5:16
So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed.
Jesus Himself made sure that HE had alone time! He often used that time to pray, and to be close to His Father. His Father is our Father too, God wants alone time with us!
  • MATTHEW 6:6
But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
Again, God wants alone time with us! He wants us to give Him our full attention. We can’t do this if we are ALWAYS busy, and never alone.
  • MARK 6:31-32
And He said to them, “Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.” For there were many coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat. So they departed to a deserted place in the boat by themselves.
We see here, Jesus thought alone time was important! Granted, they did not get much of it at that time, Jesus did stress that it was needed. They were so busy with the people, that they didn’t even have time to eat. Jesus was like okay, we need a time out! They did get a time of rest on their boat ride, before Jesus started ministering to the people once again. Sometimes we to, just need a short time of rest to refresh our mind, spirit and body.

FINAL THOUGHT

If Jesus Himself needed alone time, then we definitely need it!
The stresses of life can bring us down, but the spirit of God can bring us up! Sometimes that can only happen when we allow ourselves some me time, some alone time, where God is the only one that can capture our attention!
