PRAYING THROUGH HEBREWS

PRAYING THROUGH HEBREWS

A BIBLE STUDY TO HELP US IN PRAYER

Praying with scripture is a good way for new Christians and long time Christians to talk to God! Praying to God keeps us connected to Him. This fellowship time is the key to a strong relationship with our One and only God! In this bible study I will guide you through praying with scripture, gradually letting you pray all on your own!

HEBREWS

The book of Hebrews focuses a lot on salvation. It focuses a lot on the blood sacrifice
that Christ gave for us, along with why, what it meant (means), and how it impacts us
and our faith. Keep this in mind as you pray from verses in the book of Hebrews.

WHY

The focus of this bible study aide is prayer. The goal is to get comfortable reading
scripture and using that scripture to pray to God, our Father in Heaven.

LAYOUT

Praying through Hebrews is set up to be done weekly, for 10 weeks. Each week there’s a new scripture
reading, along with a summary of what you can pray about. A sample prayer is included
in the first two weeks, after that you can begin writing down your own prayers.

WEEK 1 OF PRAYING IN HEBREWS

Read~ Hebrews 1:10-12
Prayer Topic~ Praise God for His Creation, Power, and His Eternal Being!
Thought~ God will never fail, He will never Leave, disappear or fade away with time!

God Your creation is amazing, from a blade of grass to highest mountain, from the clouds above to the farthest heaven! Thank you for letting us be apart of that, writing You and Your laws on our hearts, so we can see and understand that You have created this vast universe, this vast world that we live on that we haven’t even seen all of yet! Your power is beyond our comprehension, beyond our limited understanding. We can’t always understand the concept of living forever, without beginning or end, but that is what sets You apart from the false Gods that are out there. You never fail! You have always been there, and will always be there! Thank You for all that You have created, blessed us with, and given us! In Jesus Name Amen.

WEEK 2 OF PRAYING IN HEBREWS

Read ~ Hebrews 2
Prayer Topic~ Pray that you pay careful attention to the word, taking it seriously so that you DO NOT drift away, understanding how special you are in God the Father’s eyes, God the Son’s eyes, and in God the Holy Spirit’s eyes. Pray that when you read the Truth, the Word, that you get closer to God and stronger spiritually.

Dear Heavenly Father, Your word is here to guide us, to teach us and correct us and so much more, as it is written in II Timothy 3:16-17. Your word should be in our head, so that we KNOW what is True and Right. We can’t not always steer away from what is wrong if don’t understand what we should be steering towards. Help us to continually look to the Truth so that we can stay spiritually strong, and not drift away when we hear or see false doctrine, words that go against the Truth. Help us to be confident in our salvation, our faith, and the knowledge that You have created us for a purpose! We are special, we were created special, separately from everything else that You created! We were created in Your image, then You came in our form and walked this earth, not a golden calf or anything else that can be made with human hands, to give us another chance to live for eternity in perfection! I pray that we will continue, or begin, to study Your word regularly so that we can know Your will for us, individually, and be confident in it, as we grow closer to You. In JESUS name, AMEN!

WEEK 3 OF PRAYING IN HEBREWS

Read ~ Hebrews 4:1-13
Prayer Topic ~ Pray that you can understand what God means for you to “enter His rest”. Lets pray that we stay in His word so that we can be convicted to live out the one day of rest (rest from our weekday, Monday thru Saturday work) that God wants us to have, along with the reminder of our eternal rest that we will have one day.

WEEK 4 OF PRAYING IN HEBREWS

Read ~ Hebrews 4:14-5:11
Prayer Topic ~ Pray about praying. Pray for understanding so you can gain knowledge so then in turn gain wisdom about prayer in whatever area God leads it too. Give praises that we have a Savior that has first hand understanding, knowledge, and wisdom about our needs and weakness’. This is so because He came to earth in the flesh, and experienced it all plus some! We can go to God with anything and everything and He will have compassion! Take time to pray about praying this week.

WEEK 8 OF PRAYING IN HEBREWS

Read ~Hebrews 9:24-28
Prayer Topic ~ Pray AFTER reading this section of God’s truths. Pray for a deeper understanding of this written message. If you are NOT confident that Christ died for you, for your sins, then prayer to God asking Him to reveal Himself to you, and pray for an open heart to hear what He is trying to tell you. God Died for EVERYONE, but only those who accept and believe in what He has done can receive eternal life, salvation. To read more about salvation I have shared a one page study on Salvation.

WEEK 10 OF PRAYING IN HEBREWS

Read ~ Hebrews 13:1-17
Prayer Topic ~ Pray for your current attitude and actions. Pray that you have the brotherly love that is spoken of on these verses, not being afraid to help and pray for those you DON”T know. Pray that you are able to keep the law marriage that God has set up in the beginning of days, (this is for married and unmarried ladies alike). Also, pray for contentment of what you have, not being jealous of other peoples possessions, and tempted to “want” something for the wrong reasons. Pray for the ability to take care of the things that God has blessed you with. Lastly, ask for the wisdom to be able to pray for those who rule over you, recognizing the Godly people who speak the word of God to you so that you can encourage them, and in turn you will not give in to any false doctrine that comes your way because you have heard God’s word, and taken it to heart.

Your Prayer ~

Don’t let your prayer time stop here! Use this format to pray with scripture from any verses or passages from the Bible! Keep praying! Keep your relationship with God strong!
