FAMILY BIBLE STUDY

Love is commanded of us! In this bible study our kids will learn that we need to do it with love, we need to do everything with love.
Read each question to the kids, and look to the answer(s) in the parenthesis for help if you need it.

  • Begin the lesson in prayer.
  • Read the scripture reading together.
  • Read the first question.
  • Encourage the children to answer before you give them any answers. (Some possible answers are in the parenthesis.)
  • Have fun spending time in God’s word with the kids.

Do It With LOVE

I Corinthians 13:2-3 KNJV
”…and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.”

  1. I am going to read the scripture again. Listen carefully, and see if you can tell me what word is mentioned the most in verses 2-3?
    (Love)
  2. What do you think Love means?
(Let them answer honestly, and then give them examples of what love means from verses 4-8. Ex. Love is being kind even when someone is treating you bad, love is not being jealous of someone else, it’s not doing something evil like telling lies about someone, love is not thinking you are better then someone. Love is helping someone just because you can, it’s being happy for someone, and love is always believing, and having faith.)
  3. Why do you think it’s important to do things for others because of LOVE and not because you have to?
(Let them answer honestly. If they need help give them suggestion like, Do you think you would do a better job at helping someone if you were helping out of Love rather than because you have to? What will help someone understand that God loves them too: 1. You helping out of love or 2. You helping with a bad attitude?)
  4. What can you do to show more love?
(Let them answer honestly. Help with a positive attitude, being friendlier, helping people more often, pray to God more often so I can appreciate the love that He has for me. Remembering that God wants us to love.)
